While we are a fair few months into 2023, I only recently stumbled across a list of the best-selling guns of 2022. A website called Gun Genius tracks the monthly sales releases of Gunbroker. At the end of the year, they compile this into a list of the best-selling guns of the year. You could argue Gunbroker is just one source, and that’s true. However, it’s likely this information represents trends across the United States rather well.
With that in mind, Crossbreed makes holsters, and holsters are for handguns. We won’t dive deep into the world of shotguns or rifles. Instead, we will focus on what we know, revolvers and automatic pistols. We’ll divide the list into the top five best sellers of each genre. Let’s dive in and discuss the best-selling firearms of 2022.
The Best Selling Automatics
1. SIG P365
No big surprise that the P365 takes the cake for the best-selling semi-auto handgun. It’s been a massive success for SIG Sauer. They’ve introduced numerous variants of the gun, and each one offers shooters an efficient degree of ammo in comparison to weapon size. The P365 series are fantastic firearms and excellent concealed-carry handguns. Heck, it’s the gun I carry.
2. SIG P320
SIG gets another winner with the P320. SIG makes so many different models of the P320 I think they only need to sell 10 of each to make this list. I say that in jest, but having so many different models must make it easy for a consumer to find their favorite model. The P320’s modularity and embracement of modern accessories have certainly helped drive the gun’s sales numbers higher.
3. S&W M&P 9
I’m not surprised one of America’s top gun makers made the best-selling list with the M&P 9, but I am surprised it beat the Glock 19. The M&P 9 from S&W is an American-made and own striker-fired polymer frame pistol available in every size you could want with a wide variety of different features, including optics-ready options. The M&P series offers one of my favorite grip designs. It’s naturally very ergonomic.
4. Glock 19
The Glock 19 is Glock’s flagship and easily their most popular pistol. It’s the right size for home defense, concealed carry, and duty. The mid-size Glock is in its fifth generation now, with oddballs like the 19X adding another option in the mix. Not to mention the optic’s ready options. The Glock 19 remains a top seller for Glock and will likely be for quite some time.
5. Glock 43
Glock might not have captured the top spot, but they did capture two spots on the best-selling list. The Glock 43 is a single-stack 9mm pistol that is ultra concealable and fairly nice to shoot. While it seemingly lags behind guns like the P365, it’s still ultra-small and comes with that famed Glock reliability.
The Best Selling Revolvers
1. Colt Python
Colt finally listened to their customer base and rereleased the famed snake gun series. The most desirable for many is the Colt Python. The Python offers modern shooters a legendary double-action revolver made famous for its impeccable action and brilliant looks. Even with a price tag above a grand, it’s still been a best seller because people want Pythons and have wanted them for decades.
2. Taurus Judge
The Taurus Judge is an odd gun on the list. I dislike .410 revolvers, but the Executive Grade Judge has admittedly caught my eye as a fun gun. The Judge series are .45 Colt/.410 handguns that come in various sizes and configurations. They are big beastly guns that can be useful in .45 Cotl and fun in .410. WHy they made the best selling list in 2023 I’m not sure.
3. Heritage Manufacturing Rough Rider
The price of the Heritage Rough Rider makes it an easy buy. At less than 200 dollars, the Heritage Rough Rider series offers a fantastic plinker for very little money. These western-style revolvers are Colt Single Action Army mockups and a blast to shoot. Heritage offers them in various sizes as well as models like the Tactical Cowboy that are designed to function with optics and even have threaded barrels.
4. S&W 686
The S&W 686 and its various models represent some of the finest modern fighting revolvers on the market. The 686 series are six or seven-shot revolvers that range a fair bit in size for nearly any method. The S&W 686 series offers shooters a very functional revolver that’s bombproof in its design. It’s the Glock 19 of revolvers.
5. North American Arms Mini-Revolver
If you want the smallest repeating firearm possible, the North American Arms Mini Revolvers are the guns you want. These rimfire revolvers offer five shots in a single-action configuration. They are mostly small, but NAA makes a ton of different models with various barrel lengths. These are very well-made and often affordable firearms. I even bought one this year, undoubtedly contributing to this list of best selling firearms.

The sig 365 xmacro is a great little gun and works well for smaller hands. The options for a duty type holster with any good retention devices SUCK.
