Comparing the Glock 43x to the Glock 43: What’s The Big Deal?

Does the Glock 43x render the G43 obsolete?!

CrossBreed scored big time and got our hands on the all-new Glock 43x and Glock 48 before they were released, which gave us the ability to have holsters ready for our customers!

We’re excited to have a full lineup of holsters available for all of SlimLine Glocks including the 43x:

Since we had some extra time with the Glock 43x, we brought in our friend and certified Glock Armorer Kyle Braschler from “The Armorers Fix” to give CrossBreed fans an exclusive in-depth breakdown of Glocks’ new firearms.

WATCH:

Here’s a rundown of some of the most obvious changes:

Height with Magazine

The Glock 43x has a height of 5.04″ vs the Glock 43 that measures 4.25″.

This change gives shooters more grip length for a fuller grip of the pistol and therefore better control.

Magazine Capacity

The extended height allows another advantage over the Glock 43: room for more rounds. While the Glock 43 comes with a flush 6 round magazine, the 43x holds 4 additional rounds to bump those rookie numbers up to 10 rounds with a flush magazine. When it comes to magazine capacity, bigger is almost always better and the 43x is certainly delivering with an additional 4 rounds.

You can always add an extended slide and/or magazine extension to your Glock 43, as there are many options on the market today. From Pierce Grip to Shield Arms, you’re only limited by your budget.

Slide

The Glock 43x not only features front cocking serrations, but it also features an nPVD finish versus the standard Gen5 nDLC finish found on the Glock 43.

The verdict is out as to how the nPVD will stand up compared with the nDLC but hey, it sure does look nice!

Price

I mean… it’s a Glock. Comparatively speaking, a new Glock 43 or 43x is going to run you about the same price but as always, there are always great deals to be found on sites like Guns.com,  Gunbroker, and Brownells!

  1. I’ve searched the entire web and haven’t found a single video of someone showing off A: The actual concealment of the 43x in their holster and B: The tuck ability of your shirt while concealing with said weapon/holster.

    1. Hey, Joseph – we appreciate your feedback! We have several videos and pictures showing the ‘tuckability’ of our holsters but you can find our most recent one on our Instagram account right now! You can find it by clicking HERE.
